EDM 760The beauty of an Aircraft Engine Monitoring System and Aircraft Digital Instrument lies not in its looks but in the features it offers and the accuracy of its performance.

With over three decades of design experience, in single and twin engine Aircraft Engine Monitoring Systems and Aircraft Digital Instruments; J.P. Instruments is undoubtedly the world leader and the “go to” folks for all your Aircraft Engine Monitoring Systems and Aircraft Digital Instrument requirements.

Parameters can be fed in and should the engine exceed any of these set parameters, the digital instrument provides hard-to-ignore warning to the pilot. With options that include integrated altimeter, airspeed indicator, fuel flow and a several other sensors for electrical systems, engines and fuel systems, Ai ... Read more »

Slimline Pressure GaugeThe mysterious disappearance of Malaysian airline flight 370 as well as the more recent crash of the AirAsia flight in and around the same region, highlights the need for better airplane safety both in terms of its handling by ground personnel as well as the kind of information provided to pilots via onboard flight instruments and aircraft engine data management systems.

It’s not that technology or the instruments are not available – the aftermarket in onboard flight instruments and aircraft engine data management systems is a big industry. The fact is, a lot of aircraft owners especially those buying pre-owned aircraft, don’t realize the risk they take by flying aircraft with obsolete onboard flight instruments.

The aircraft engine may be great but what about the quality of info ... Read more »

Aircraft Precision ProductsWish your aircraft cockpit instrument cluster provided you with better information? Today you can easily upgrade your aircraft cockpit instrument cluster – either all of it or parts of it at a fraction of what it would have cost a few years back.

Not long ago a basic two-display EFIS upgrade cost upwards of $70K. Back then aircraft owners who upgraded their instrument panel benefited greatly from it but had to pay a dear price. Today you can buy an all-in-one unit for your light single or twin that consists of solid-state attitude indicator, synthetic-vision primary flight display, a heading reference system, built-in terrain alerting, air-data computer and a moving map in colour for under $20K.

Take the EDM-930 by JP Instruments for example, it is fully certifie ... Read more »

CHT Probe 4 PackWith cost of aircraft acquisition and aviation fuel reaching unprecedented levels coupled with expensive engineering and maintenance cost of each aircraft, it is imperative that we obtain every ounce of performance out of an aircraft engine. Also, from a purely investment point of view, a better performing engine will give better return on investment.

Just as every corporate keeps accounts to track the performance of its business; so also an aircraft engine monitoring systems keeps track of the aircraft engine performance. Doing so helps detect anomalies and detects parts of the aircraft engine that might not be performing at their optimum levels.

In most cases, all that is required is a little synchronized tweaking. But if anomalies are not detected early and corrected, it could not only l ... Read more »

FS-450Better the mileage, longer the distance you can fly and consequently, greater the pleasure. Ever since the Wright brothers first flew their plane, figuring out maximum range for your aircraft has always been guesswork. Between then and now science and technology has made such strides that one would have thought that designing an instrument that helps calculate your fuel consumption and consequently the range, would have been a breeze.

It is not just calculating the range before the actual flight that is the problem; during flight too there can be lots of unexpected factors that result in higher fuel consumption. So what is your new range? Looking at the fuel gauges with their bouncing needles that bob ... Read more »

Flying your own aircraft is a thrill like none other and these owners are very careful the keep their aircraft in peek condition.

Immediate Release September 24, 2014 – Peak condition however, is a relative term because there are factors within an aircraft that are just not visible or factors that cannot be heard or felt. Take for example engine wear and tear. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had instruments in your cluster that provided just little tinny weenie bit more information on what was happening inside your aircraft engine?

Wouldn’t you love to know what kind of internal combustion pressures are exerted relative to your LOP? Take the EDM 800 engine analyzer engine analyzer (manufactured by JP Instruments) for example. When operated in LOP mode, it dis ... Read more »
